Secondary school
Name: Increase biodiversity in your school and town! Construction of bird feeders and houses.
Target audience: Secondary school
This activity is aimed at higher primary and secondary school students (years 5-12) and teachers (50 max. per school). Can be either school classes or clubs.
Duration: 4 hours (can be adjusted, if necessary)

Goals:
- Increase bird biodiversity in green areas within and around the school and nearby town parks;
- Increase the reproductive success of less common species, in decline within urban areas;
- Develop multiple approaches to the subject “birds and habitats” from an interdisciplinary point of view.
- Provide schools with innovative work methodologies related to the use of new technologies;
- Promote scientific research.

Description:
- Presentation about the project and the subject of biodiversity, assessment of target species within the facilities
- Construction of bird feeders, built by the students from recyclable materials, brought by them.
- Placement of the feeders
- Construction and placement of birds houses

Material to be supplied by the school/institution
- Video projector
- Clean recyclable materials
