Arenaria Project
Arenaria Project is a joint initiative of the Eco-Ethology Research Unit  (ISPA - University Institute), the National Natural History and Science Museum (MNHNC) and SPEA to improve knowledge about the distribution, abundance and population trends of Portuguese shorebirds during winter, especially for waders. This initiative began in the winter of 2009/10, with a census of the entire national coastline (the first of its kind in the country). Since then, dozens of squares classified as priority, has been annually monitored, to assess population trends.

The project website has detailed directions on it and on how to participate, as well as numerous results already obtained, maps, articles and updates. Your participation and your opinions are very important, do not hesitate to contact the Regional Organizers or the Project Team!
